Yeah, this post is mainly just a pointless update to replace my old post. It kinda sucks that I can't frontpage, but i'll still make occasional posts.
New movie thing coming hopefully before summers end. But before thats done I want to make at least one short movie or a game or something. Mainly just the need to get something recent out. Everything else I have submitted it really dated and I need something to hide it.
Anyways, I don't have any dumb youtubes or whatever, so i'll just end this post.

Posted by Masterswordman May. 12, 2008 @ 12:04 PM EDTEver wonder why a piece of crap is rated so highly these days? Here's my simple explanation...target demographics.
For example, I hear about video game parodies on the front page that suck balls according to most popular artists. Well, thats because most of these people sharing there opinions aren't raging video game fans, like most of you out there(I was one once). So, those not interested are probably not going to watch it and the target demographic(video game fans) are, hence they are highly rated, top 50, ect. The score goes down, once it is off the front page and the ratio of video game fans/non-video game fans evens out.
Now the score of something is mainly based on how well it does in its main focus. For instance, Brakenwood movies are mainly focusing on art and animation, and Awesome films are mainly focusing on humor. Since they both do very well at showing the aspect of the movie they're focusing on, they both get high scores. Now, some movies I've seen try to focus on the art and animation of a movie, but they don't get very highly rated, due to the artists lack of art skill.
I hope someone actually reads this.

It allows users to add the articles to places like digg, yahoo news, ect. But searching through these sites find no Newgrounds blog posts on them. Is it that people merely don't notice this option, or don't care? I think if people showed more interest in posting interesting flash-related blog posts to these larger news sites, we could spread the word and work of more Flash artists.
I'm just rambling...

Its one of the few in which they really communicate to the community and give back to them. They give out prizes and money, and talk with many people of the Newgrounds community. This is different from other large sites, like Myspace, Youtube, ect. which just put up a site and have everyone do whatever inside it.
But I guess thats just the scheme of Newgrounds compared to other sites.
Updated: 12/21/07 9:08 PM 1 comment | Log in to comment! | Share this!I've noticed how internet lingo like LOL, WTF and such have really developed from it being used prominently by internet nerds and chatters, to just casual phrases used by just about every web user nowadays on forums, chatrooms, ect. Most internet conversations drop a LOL every once in a while, not to sound like they are internet-savvy or just saving typing. No, it seems its become a much more casual thing on computers now.
For example, instead of it being used to shorten typing in chatting:
r0xx0rz: u r 2 1337 d00d
b0xx0rz: LOL
r0xx0rz: want 2 join my guild
b0xx0rz: GTFO n00b
Terms like LOL and others are being used in more formal internet conversation:
Joe: Hello.
Frank: What's up?
Joe: I wanted Rob to sneak out and come over to my house to watch "Rape and Murder 2: Blood n' sex Edition", but he didn't want to disobey his parents.
Frank: LOL, what a momma's boy.
Catch my drift?
